New Minimate WIP

I've been working on this little guy for about 2 months now. Last night, I got really close to the finished build... I've just got a little more detail work to put on the coat, and add in the regular jacket under the trench. I'm very happy with the way that he's shaping up... The arms are completely scratch-built, and are totally possable, which is something I couldn't be prouder of...

Success! I couldn't believe that the figure went for that much. Shocked really. After that, I posted three more figures: Dr. Strange, Supergirl & Red Sonja... Just playing around, seeing what people were interested in...

Dr. Strange went with a Buy-It-Now in just over an hour. Two days and some change left, and Supergirl & Red Sonja have yet to get a bid. No biggie. I really like both of those figures, and may end the auctions soon just to reshelve them... Still, I'm curious what some of my other ones might go for. I'm really holding off on posting my Tuxedoed Zatanna. I think that the popularity of the character might drive that one up, but my love for Z (and that 'Mate in particular) keeps me from selling her...

Seems that after a couple years of doing commissioned Minimates, I got my first deadbeat orderer. This guy ordered five figures off of me, and two months after I finished them, I still haven't seem any money from him.

So...

I just listed my first custom Minimate on eBay. Kind of interested to see what it'll do... Seems like customs aren't doing so hot these days. We'll see...

As per the title, I've had nothing to post lately...

I've gotten a couple of other Minimates finished, but no new WIPs to post. Head on over to the Multiverse (http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.php?showtopic=25) to check out the new figures.

Been reading alot of comics lately. Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness is pretty fun so far. Love the new Buffy comic, and in the same category of WhedonComics, the first issue of his Runaways series was pretty cool. They "killed" Cap, which I'm not too happy about. Cooke's Spirit series is fan-fuckin-tastic... Highly recommend that book. Alot of other stuff is kindof "ho-hum" but the last few issues of Cable & Deadpool have been really entertaining. No Cable. It's almost a throw back to the old Deadpool series. Tons of the supporting cast from that book have been showing up in C&D lately... Good read.

Just got the Tom Goes To The Mayor DVD set... Brilliant! I forgot how funny some of the early episodes were. Also picked up the live action Cutie Honey movie. It's dubbed, so I can actually understand what's going on now... Like the insane over-the-top action wasn't clear enough.

Toy-wise: I've kinda gotten into the Ben 10 figures lately. I love the cartoon. It's fantastic (Kinda disappointed that Cartoon Network's only showing it on Saturdays now... Was really nice getting two episodes a day for awhile). Still looking for some of the earlier figures, but I'll find them... I'll find them...

Better wrap this fucker up. It's the longest post I've ever made in my two long months of blogging, but I've missed youse guys.

I just re-watched this over the weekend after coercing a friend into buying it... And...

It's still as good as I remembered.

If you've never seen it, give it a try. You can get the entire series for under $20 at BestBuy. Watch it all as quick as you can. By the end of the series, you'll realize that you just watched something amazing... Something that can honestly be called, the Greatest Anime Ever!

Onslaught WIP

First post in the B.O.D., and I thought I'd use it to show you what I'm working on now. Onslaught from the Marvel Universe. This figure is massive. Built on a 3" Minimate body, everything but the helmet is scratchbuilt. I recast and modified the existing Magneto helmet for use on this figure. I've got a couple copies to make, so I really need to start painting...
